Today we continued our training of Woody in "Running at the Quintain". He's still not quite sure of the whole thing, but he does have the hang of it. Of course he's having to learn to neck-rein at the same time (hard to use both hands on the reins English-style when you have one hand full of lance!) Taxi came out too, with "Squire Bob", and while I was training Woody, Taxi was training "Squire Bob" in the intricacies of the Lance (below). But Woody is bombproof: while Neb and Taxi were banging away at the Big Yellow Beast (i.e. the quintain) Woody and I stood next to it to re-set it after each run. When they'd hit it with a bang and a thud, Woody would glance at it, and then give me the look that says "Do you have something for me to eat?" (this post actually by Gordon. Neb posted the pic.)
